Filling The Void

So I have been going over and over in my head all the things I can do to keep busy so that I won't miss Clayton so much... Some I've started, some I'm still debating and another is really just an every day task.

Filling No.1

Scrapbooking. Now I consider scrapbooking something that can be done without an actual scrapbook, though I do have one. Scrapbooking to mean is documenting life through photography, but with a little added zest (ie. stickers, markers, cool scissors, captions, etc). This particular scrapbooking activity uses 8x10 photos, stickers, and frames. You will notice that Greyson's pictures don't have stickers yet, but the next time I'm in Walmart that will change. So what I've done is put some stickers on the black&white 8x10's, put them in a black frame and then hung them (well not yet, I'm waiting on frames to be delivered to Walmart) on the walls of my bedroom (I will make sure to post the outcome when finalized). Someday, when we have a house of our own these pictures will probably be transferred to a different room...we will see. But I thought that I would share these pictures with you (cuz I just love them so much!!!).

Greyson and his thumb...TOO CUTE!!!

Greyson and I - Notice the sticker of choice

I captured the perfect moment!

I just want to eat him up!

Love it!

Is that not the perfect sticker? What luck!
Filling No.2
Doing the dishes. Yes, you heard me right. Usually I just put the dishes in the dishwasher and when it's full enough to run I fill it up with soap and push the button. Well, I've decided that by doing the dishes by hand I will fill up a part of my day (and maybe even save some water). And when Greyson helps, it lasts that much longer! He has so much fun playing in the water...so usually when the dishes are finished he takes a tubby.
Filling No.3
Reading. I love to read! I can get lost in a book (when it's good)! I just finished the second book in the Twilight quadrilogy (and am waiting for the third one to come in - won't be until MAY!). I just love vampires! If you've read my updated 25 random things about me, then you will know this (probably more than you wanted to know). So because I enjoy vampires so much (and Clayton has said many a time that Ann Rice is a good author) I decided to read the vampire series. The first book is Interview with a Vampire. So far, I'm not being sucked in (ha! yes I did choose that word on purpose). Clayton did say that it was a slow book, but he thought that it might have been that way because he saw the movie first...NOPE! It is definately slow! So, I'm having a hard time finding the desire to read it.
Filling No.4
Taking a karate class. Clayton suggested this the other day when I broke down on the phone about how lonely I've been... Not only could this be a fun way to fill my day, but also a useful way. I mean you never know when you might have to defend yourself (on second thought maybe I should just take a self-defense class). In order to do that I would have to find someone to watch Greyson for an hour, twice a week. It might not be that much trouble, but I'm kinda afraid to ask. Speaking of karate... Greyson will join next year. He has to be 3 before he can join, but I think it will be fun for him and he will look so cute...and it's a good way to learn discipline. :o) The only other thing stopping me from doing this is that I'll be gone for two weeks in April and a whole month in the summer. I don't want to spend money on something that I will miss so much of... Hmm. We will see. I will make sure to let you know if I in fact join a class.
I think that is all that I've come up with so far. Once the weather starts to warm up again we can spend time at the beach or the park. I have talked to a lot of MOPS moms and we are going to start a play date once a month at the local park or open gym, so that will help. I just miss him so much!!! It has been suggested by a sister of mine that I just go back to Michigan. As much as that does sound wonderful...this is my home now and I can't leave. I don't want Clayton to think that I don't love him enough to wait for him...and he just might see me going back to Michigan as just that (though it wouldn't be, cuz I love him FOREVER!) Plus, now that I've been recruited there is always the blogworld to pass the time...so many options!
