Could it Be? Yes, I think it is. Summer!

So it's June 14th and Michigan is finally seeing summer. It's been summer in North Carolina for at least two months (just thought I'd point that out). But of course there is always the other side...if I was there I just might be saying "does it really have to be this HOT!" but I'm not there so I can say that I'm glad that summer has finally arrived. Greyson and I spent the day hanging out in the pool and lounging around the yard. What a beautiful Michigan summer day!
Always climbing!

UDDERly hilarious

So today we went to finally pick up Clayton's new car *exhausting* and if the past three weeks wasn't long enough it took us two hours just to complete the paperwork, and another hour to an hour and a half for them to polysteel the car (okay, so that was optional and it made sense to do it then instead of coming back at another time...plus I got to go to the mall and do a little shopping)...anyway, lets get to the point. So we (oh, and by we I mean Cris and I (and Greyson)) are in the finance guys office filling out paperwork and Greyson is playing with the toys in the corner. First it was trucks and then farm animals. Anyhoo, he is playing with a cow and walking him around the room saying "cow" and "moo"...cute, right? Definitely! Well, next thing I hear is PENIS! What? Did he just say penis? (Yes the boy knows the word penis and he knows what it means, but he's never said it in public before - but that isn't really the funny part). So I turn to look at Greyson. He's pointing to the udders on the cow and calling it a penis. I couldn't help but laugh. I then explained to him that what he was pointing to were udders which hold milk so that the cow can feed its babies. I guess I could have been horrified but instead I was humored by the whole thing. I mean he's two. A easy mistake...unless you think about the fact that there are like at least 8 nipples on an udder and well, you get the drift. Anyway, I hope you all found it as funny as I did. :o)

Operation Kid Comfort

The Armed Services YMCA has a program called Operation Kid Comfort whose sole purpose is to help children whose parent is deployed get through the difficulties that come with the absence of a parent. Depending on the age of the child they either receive a quilt or a pillowcase. All you have to do is fill out a form and electronically send them 9 pictures and they will do the rest. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do all 9 photos of just Greyson and Clayton. When we had to reformat our computer I didn't back up the pictures (I figured they were already on Walgreens.com so why bother)...minus the one of just Greyson and I the rest have Clayton in them. I think it turned out really cute, and I teared up with I opened it (the letter they sent along didn't help). It's nice to know there are organizations out there whose sole purpose is to make the lives of military families a little easier. A big THANK YOU to those who volunteer their time to help the children of the men and women who fight to keep us safe.

The adorable-ness of Overalls 2

So y'all know how adorable overalls are (on anyone under 5 years old and under) and since Whitney bought Greyson a pair of overall shorts I just had to take some pictures and post them. Surprisingly, they might actually be too small. Can you believe it? The boy must be getting some good eats here in Michigan. I'm going to have to get creative so that he can wear them more than this one time...I might have to add another button or something along those lines, either way he's going to wear them again...because he is just TOO darn ADORABLE!

He's not looking too happy, but doesn't it make for an adorable picture?

He looks like he's saying something, but for the life of me I can't recall what

Now is it the adorable-ness of overalls or the adorable-ness of Greyson?
I'm torn.

Too frickin' cute!

Love him!

Rainboots, a draining pool and too much fun!!!

Greyson got rain boots for his birthday and finally got to use them. Yes, it has rained but the temperature hasn't been conducive for stomping through mud puddles and dancing in the rain...so we (or I should say Greyson) took advantage of the next best thing...

Our neighbors were draining their pool, preparing for the summer, and since Greyson was eager to go tromping through the enormous puddle in the backyard I figured we should dress accordingly. Back to grandma and grandpa's to break out those brand new rain boots...and then it was time for some fun...
Wanted to do it all by himself
Getting a little wet

It was cold, but Greyson was having too much fun

Maddie came out to help

Even the dogs were having some fun
Look at those pants

Really enjoyed making the water splash over his boot

Burr, cold!

Hesitantly approaching the rushing water

Where's Clayton?

This picture was sent to Jim from lady who does correspondence between the units in Iraq and the families back here. I found Clayton in less than a second. Your turn.

Greyson's first Easter egg hunt

On Easter Sunday Greyson was invited over to the Britton's for an Easter egg hunt...it was his first. He did pretty well searching for the eggs. The girls even gave him some of the ones they found so that he wouldn't end up with zero...thanks Sophie and Maddie.
