Growing a litle more everyday.

They are beautiful! I can't wait until they are ready!!! And I can eat them!!! It should be about August...bummer...I'll be gone for two weeks during August! I hope I don't miss them.

Let the Adventure Begin

Clayton and I are off to Japan in a couple months!
We leave Raleigh on Monday August 8th at 7:50pm, we fly into LA where we have a three hour layover. We board the plane for Japan at 1:08am on Tuesday morning and will arrive in Tokyo at 4:55am on Wednesday morning (remember they are a day ahead of us).
Then we will return home on Friday August 19th. We board the plane in Tokyo at 6:55am and fly into Detroit where we have a two and a half hour layover. We arrive in GR at 9:45am Friday August 19th. Cris will be picking us up from the airport.
We will be in Michigan until Monday morning, probably about 4am, at which time we will get in the car and make the 17 hour drive back to NC.
I'm very excited for this adventure. Clayton and I have never had an extended vacation and to experience another culture together will be awesome. I look forward to climbing Mt. Fuji and to see all of God's creation from a bird's eye view...I can only image how amazing it will be. We plan to eat some Ramen at a streetside Ramen stand, try to visit the Imperial Palace gardens, and maybe we'll get lucky and there will be a sumo match while we are there. I can't wait to take pictures and share all the details of our adventure when we return.
Pray for safe travels and an enjoyable experience. I know Greyson will be in safe hands with our families in Michigan.

You say Tomato...I say Toemahtoe (phonetically spelt)

I really wish that I would have taken pictures when I first planted my tomatoes, and in increments until there are big red tomatoes...but I didn't. So this will have to do. They are beautiful! I love them. I talk to them as I give them water. This morning when I went out to do laundry I found them all withered and droopy. I was very sad! I thought they were goners...but with a little water they perked right back up. :) And guess what I found when I was walking back in the door from putting in a load of laundry....a itty, bitty green tomato! I was sooo excited! Stay tuned for more pictures. Thanks again Cris for my topsy turvy!

Shave and a Haircut...Two Bits

Okay, so there was no shave...but definately a much needed hair cut. Now I can schedule is 4-yr pictures...two months later than they should be, but it's bette late than never. :)

Mother's Day

When I went to bed last night I forgot to put out Greyson's breakfast, so I figured that he would be waking me up bright and early...he did, but it was to ask me a question and since I fell back asleep afterwards I'm guessing that my answer was sufficient. When my alarm clock went off a while later I went downstairs and found that Greyson was able to get his own breakfast, a cheese stick, this morning. After I got dressed for church Greyson joined me for some cereal.

All I wanted for Mother's Day this year was a morning to myself (church and shopping), homemade cards, and all my Sunday chores to be someone else's (Clayton's) responsibility. In my opinion, Mother's Day was a success!

Church was nice this morning. We are doing series right now called "Think Orange" which is about making faith and family go hand-in-hand. That children shouldn't be getting to know God solely from church, but that it needs to be an everyday sort of thing. Our worship time was lead by the student minstry...they danced and sang to the music. Followed by a simple sermon, and two Baptisims.
After church I spent 2-3 hours at the bookstore. It was fabulous! I ended up walking out with two books for Greyson (Super Why Look and Find, and Summer Bridge Activities which are suppose to keep him ready for preschool), a book for Clayton (Child 44), and two books (Raising Respectful Children in a Disrespectful World, and Brain Games) and Bananagrams for me. I've been wanting Bananagrams since Kim and Jeff's wedding! Clayton and I played while Greyson took his nap, lots of fun.

I came home to beautiful Mother's Day cards. Greyson met me at the door with his. I'm a lucky lady!

Along with my card Clayton also did the laundry, dish and made dinner. We haven't decided if we'll be having dessert or not...I'm okay either way, because it was a great Mother's day!!!

Not even a tear.

The boy who says he is going to be a Marine when he gets bigger (he is also going to drive a rocketship and go to the moon, be a Metro-traine driver, and work as a McDonald's drive-thru person so he can give people french fries) got his first motto (motivational) tattoo during our trip to D.C.
