In The Process of Packing...
I found a picture of Clayton and me (in the pocket of one of his jackets) from when he was home on his first leave after boot camp. It was a nice surprise. I also found my driver's license - so that's where it went? I miss my hair being short like that. It's so fun and spunky! I told Clayton the other day that I wanted to change my hair - definitely a coloring since I have SO many gray hairs, and possibly a cut...but Clayton said that he didn't want me to cut it. :o( Not that he doesn't like it when it's short but he REALLY likes it when it's long. Anyway, here's a pic. Aww! If you look closely you notice that there are no creases at the corner of Clayton's eyes, according to the new sitcom Lie to Me this would mean that Clayton's smile is not sincere. I promise I won't hold it against him...

Our Weekend (I wish I could have came up with a better title)
So this weekend Greyson and I went to Cary to spend time with my friend Kim and her fiance Jeff. It was so much fun (even the drive there and back was enjoyable)! Friday night they took Greyson and I out for dinner and ice cream. Even though I ordered Greyson mac&cheese he decided that ice would make a better meal. I should have known. It was beautiful on Saturday so Kim and I took Greyson and Maggie (their dog) for a walk. We don't get to do that very often at home (unless you count walking to the mailbox). After our walk we went to the park to have a picnic and play. Kim's friend Gina and her two kids joined us. It was a good time! Then that evening our friend Melissa drove over and we spent the rest of the day together. I just love those girls! So much fun! Greyson stayed back at the apartment with Jeff. They ate pizza and mac&cheese for dinner, took Maggie on potty walks and chased frogs. I'm not sure who had more fun. It ended up being a late night, and on the night when we had to move the clocks forward! Very little sleep. Sunday we went to Kim's classroom so she could do some planning (Greyson and I played on the playground). Being in her room made me miss teaching (just a little bit). Then we went to Target (bad move, since I spent way too much money) to get stuff for a cookout. Once we got back to the apartment Kim told me to go lay by the pool and she would watch Greyson. Uninterrupted sun bathing...I can't tell you the last time that happened. It was great! Then we had a nice dinner with Gina and her kids, followed by an early night...Greyson was in bed by 8 and I followed at 9:30. We were on the road this morning by 7 (Greyson had a doctors appointment first thing this afternoon). It was such a wonderful weekend, I was sorry to see it end. :o( I just want to send a big thanks to Kim and Jeff for inviting us and for entertaining Greyson.
While in Raleigh (well, Cary) I spent the evening into the wee hours of the night (and by wee hours I mean we were home by 10:30ish) with Kim and Melissa...IT WAS A BLAST! We haven't hung out since we were all back in Michigan, and that was forever ago! We met at Baker, and being the only attendants with Bachelor degrees, bonded immediately. Whenever we are together there isn't a dry eye in the place...that's how hard we laugh! I didn't realize how much I missed hanging out with them until we got together this weekend. No one should have to go this long without laughing, and by laughing I mean tears in the eyes, rolling on the floor, knee slapping, "stop or I'm gonna pee" laughing! I hope that from now on we get together at least once a month (well, after I get back from Michigan). We went shopping (stay tuned for the pictures of what I bought) and then we went out for dinner and drinks. Too much fun! I would go into more detail but you can't appreciate the greatness of the time spent unless you were there...or I was actually talking to you...so if you are interested, give me a call. :o)

How Old Am I?
The lifestyle in which you live can affect how you age...and the years of stress that I layered in my life has lead to this...
All By Myself
We've reached the stage where the child puts on the adult shoes...it's too bad that 99.9% of the shoes in our apartment are mine so Greyson has to wear girl shoes when he decides to play "dress-up."
You're In Then You're Out
It was a nice day so I opened the door onto the deck and let Greyson go in and out on his own accord (and that is exactly what he did). He was having fun!
Looks like Oprah is yelling at Greyson :o)
