Little Dragons

This is Greyson's thrid week (ie. third Friday) of karate. So far they've worked on teamwork, balance and control. He seems to enjoy it and is doing very well for a three-year-old, though I have no one to compare him to. There are a few things we need to work on so that he can do better in class. First, his focus. He is easily distracted and a follower. If the kids next to him aren't doing what they are suppose to, well he's right there with them. Also he really isn't the best at paying attention to the teachers...he's always looking around or just sitting there kinda in a trance...it's not hard to believe since he is only three, but it's still something we will be working on. We also need to work on his punching and kicking...or should I say, his form. This will all come in time, and right now it should be all about fun! I'll keep you posted on his progress.

Warm-up: Squats

Seiretsu: Line up!

Seiza: Kneel down

It hasn't come in and Sempai Bonner didn't want Greyson to feel left out.

It's really huge on him!
It's roled like 20x.

Summer isn't until June 21st, right?

So we've been enjoying "spring break" though in our case I'm not sure what we are taking a break from...our every day routine? The weather has been fantastic. We might be going to the beach sometime this week...Greyson hasn't mentioned it in a while so it might not happen until this weekend...unless Cris really wants to hit the beach. I blew up Greyson's pool and he had lots of fun with that while Cris and I laid in the sun. Greyson also got bubble's from the Easter bunny...after we had had enough of the sun we went out front as sat in the shade where Greyson did a great job of blowing bubbles. Cris will only be here for three more days so hopefully we'll come up with something fun to do...though just spending time here together has been nice.

Ready, Set, ...

JUMP!

Easter Sunday

I consider this year to be our first REAL Easter as a family because Greyson was actually old enough to participate in the festivities and we were all together (Greyson did participate in an Easter egg hunt last year at Susan's but Clayton was in Iraq). We dyed eggs the night before (we got home late from picking up Cris from the airport and Greyson wasn't quite ready for bed) and after Greyson finally went to sleep (having a guest always makes one too excited to sleep when they are suppose to) Clayton, Cris and I hide all of the Easter goodies. The next morning Greyson looked for his eggs, and then I made breakfast (Biscuits and Gravy, a family tradition - it was my first time). After breakfast we went to Walmart so Cris could pick up a few things for her stay and Greyson spent his birthday money from Grandma Cris (He bought a four-wheeler, pictures below). Once we arrived home from shopping we spent the rest of the day relaxing (for Cris and I that meant getting a little sun, for Greyson that meant a nap and for Clayton that meant searching the web for tattoo ideas)...after relaxing time was spent outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather. Greyson got to ride his new four-wheeler while the adults watched. After dinner and until Greyson went to sleep that night, we spent our time outdoors. Even after Greyson went to bed us adults enjoyed the nice weather...if only we had a firepit. It was a wonderful Easter, spent with family. I hope that the rest of my family enjoyed their Easter as well. :)

Coloring Eggs.

Greyson did a decent job.

Daddy decided to join the fun.

I guess I wasn't doing a good enough job.

Watch and Learn.

Easter morning.

Here's another one...

and another...

See!

I got a plane!!!

And here's my Easter basket!

A chocolate bunny and a book (Curious George)

The last egg.

An insincere smile for the camera.

All Greyson's stuff!!!

Wow!

The prize shot.

All our colored eggs.

My first ever attempt at Bisucits and Gravy.
It was YUMMY!

Peeling the eggs was becoming frustrating.
So Clayton took over.

Grandma Cris bought Greyson some big boy undies.
He did okay.

His new four-wheeler

Loves it!

Daddy showing him how to turn.

He's got the hang of it now.

The Kitchen is the heart of any home.

And now, we have two. Clayton put together Greyson's kitchen (it took 1.5 hours, and only one possible swear word) last night, so that Greyson would be able to enjoy playing with his kitchen this morning...and he did. He was up at 7:45 and downstairs playing with all his new toys. And he's been playing with them ever since. He goes back and forth between his Super Why costume, the kitchen and his new dumptruck. He's a very happy boy. :)

Reading the directions [is half the battle].

A crazy mess.

Slowly coming together.

Ever so slowly...

Putting together the stovetop.
It makes real cooking sounds.

The completed project.

Now it's time to play!

Putting "water" in the freezer to freeze.

Playing.

Putting PB and Jelly on his toast.
