ABC

Greyson decided he wanted to play with his magnet school tonight. I decided that I should document it so that Greyson's Aunt Jen could see that he does play with the present she bought him. The magnet school has both letters and numbers. Greyson has become very good with his letters but his numbers and counting are lagging. So I took out the numbers and put them on the frig, hopefully he'll start to play with those just as much as the letters and get a little better with them. This mom is getting her boy ready for preschool...he's on his way.

Poop on the Potty!

Greyson went poop on the big boy potty! I was very excited. He didn't ask to go but he went when I put him on there (which is a step in the right direction because usually he says no when I ask him if he wants to go on the big boy potty). Since then he hasn't wanted to go, but I'm still proud of this step that he took. He's a big boy!

Our Day At the Farm

Today our MOPS group went to A Day at the Farm. It was the perfect day for it; true fall weather. We walked around the farm and pet the animals, the kids learned how to make butter (Greyson preferred to play on the playground), we went for a hay ride and then ate lunch. We had such a good turn out (bummed that everyone left before we were able to get a good group picture). It was a nice Columbus day spent as a family. Enjoy.

Choosy mom's choose...

JIFF?

I use to. Now, my eyes have been opened to a new and less expensive jar of peanut butter. "What?" you ask. Peterpan. You can taste peanut, rather than sugar. Peterpan also has less ingrediants that leave you asking, "What is that?" Oh, and the jar is earthfriendlier...9% less plastic per ounce. If we hadn't been trying to make $100 stretch, I wouldn't have ever tried a different peanut butter...and I'm very glad that I did. If you have a chance you should give it a try...you just might make a similar change. :o)

Weekend is Bliss

On Saturday we enjoyed the warm weather that is fall in North Carolina; A beautiful sunny day accompanied by a slight (but necessary) breeze. We were off to the Seafood Festival. I don't know what I was expecting, though I should have known, but there were people everywhere. A drive that normally takes 25 minutes took an hour. The roomy sidewalks that we strolled along two months ago, were now a tin of sardines. We had to park 15 blocks away (unless we wanted to pay an incredible fee), which wouldn't have seemed too extreme if it were just Clayton and I but with Greyson, and his little legs, it seemed much longer...but not for long.

(good thing daddy has strong shoulders!)

We enjoyed some really excellent shrimp from the legion "booth" and some good flounder from the Flounders (it's a resturaunt) "booth." Clayton and I was able to pet a 6 month old bamboo shark. Greyson tried but his arm wasn't long enough to reach them (they were hanging out at the bottom of the tank). We'll have to make a date to go to the aquarium and pet the sting rays.
Then Greyson and I took a picture "inside" the gi-normous shark's jaws. Greyson was a little whiny, but overall it was a well spent afternoon.

On Sunday we went to Jason's house for dinner, a little Euchre and some bowling. This was Greyson's first time bowling and he did a GREAT job; he did use bumpers and ramp. Whenever I go bowling the only goal I have is to break 100; I was unsuccessful the first game, but victorious the second and third. Clayton didn't do too well. He does some fancy throw (which I definitely couldn't do) but that's no excuse...Jason uses the same throw and he was the winner every time. It was a great time. It's been too long since I've been bowling, hopefully we'll do it more often since it's less expensive on base.
FYI: I used my camera phone to take these pictures because we forgot the regular camera, so they aren't the best. :o(

First game.
Greyson's score is the third one.

Pushing the ball down the ramp.

He carried his own ball - so strong!

So cute!

Look at those cute bowling shoes!

Even Greyson broke one hundred!

Awww!

Watching the ball roll down the lane.

He gets a strike!

Good job, Greyson!!!
