November 2010
So often we tend to get swept up in the day to day goings on, dragged down by the stresses of motherhood, or turned all around by the overwhelming saga that is life that we forget to acknowledge all that we are thankful for.
What if we took the time each day to give thanks for what we have, rather than to request something different. Instead of saying, "God, could you please make my child less stubborn?" we say, "God, thank you for such a willful child. When she's 16, I won't have to worry that peer pressure will blow her off course." Instead of saying, "Ugh. Why can't my husband put the dishes away correctly?" we say, "Honey, thank you for helping me by putting away the dishes." Much of the time the good and bad in life is all about perspective. So take off those dark and dreary shades, put on some rose-colored glasses and be thankful for all you have.
Sure, giving thanks each day can easily fall to the back burner, and as moms we know that if something doesn't get written on the calendar - it don't get done! Cue Thanksgiving. We don't even have to write this one in, the calendar industry did it for us. I know, I know, we shouldn't wait until Thanksgiving day to say "thank you," but isn't it good to know that if you forget during the other 364 days of the year you'll be reminded on the last Thursday in November when you sit down to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with your family?

So Proud. :)
I don't know many three year olds who enjoy letters as much as Greyson. Whenever he wants to "draw," he makes letters rather than pictures. I hoping that his love for letters will making reading (and school in general) easier. It just makes me so proud to see him grow. :)
And tonight he got out his lined paper and decided to "draw" the ABCs.

Greyson Says
Tonight at dinner Clayton asked Greyson, "Who do you look like?"
Greyson said, "What?"
"Do you look like mommy or daddy?" asked Clayton.
"Daddy," said Greyson.
"Why do you look like daddy?" I asked. Assuming that he would say, because I'm a boy.
"Because I love him," said Greyson, with a big smile.
Aww...That's what I thought, and looking at Clayton I could tell he felt the same way.
