A Family Road Trip

This past weekend (plus some) we went to New England for Clayton's brother's wedding. Neither of us had ever been to New England (unless Connecticut counts, does it?) and it was nice to do it as a family. It was very beautiful! And the weather...YIPPEE!!! We were able to drive with the windows down and enjoy the fresh air, and once we got to the hotel we were able to stand outside and not drip with sweat! It was GREAT! We spent the mornings cuddling as a family and the afternoon either in the pool or trapesing through Plymouth.
Eric and Sarah's wedding was simple and scenic. How fabulous to get married on the beach with mother nature as your backdrop! The reception was small but nice. Just food, conversation/toasting, and cake. The food was scrumptious! Mmmm! The grilled shrimp and strawberry salad, yum!
We've decided that we will visit New England again. There are a couple things we'd like to do... visit Saelem, and go Whale watching.
The only thing I would change if I could...the drive.
It was very exhausting! Traffic was a killer.

The Rehersal Dinner

Greyson fell asleep before dinner was served.
Good thing he didn't order anything.

Patiently waiting.

Meritorious Promotion: Sgt. Simpson

Today Clayton was meritoriously (deserving reward for excellence, or as Clayton would say "because I'm Shit HOT.") promoted from corporal to Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Greyson and I attended the "ceremony" and I was able (and honored) to pin Clayton's Sgt. chevrons on his cammies. I am so proud of Clayton for this achievement - Sgt. in 2 years 8 months. He is making the most of his time in the USMC and I hope that it pays off (in terms of employment) once he gets out of the military next December. I'm incredibly lucky to have a man that I can be proud of...one who goes to work everyday at a job he doesn't necessarily like so that he can take care of his family. Congratulations Clayton! I love you!
Marching up.

Saluting before the promotion warrant is read.

Waiting patiently for the GySgt to call me up.

Taking off the Cpl. chevron.

Time to put on the Sgt. chevrons.
Have to make sure they're put on correctly.

Greyson watching.
Aww.

Pinning on the last chevron.

Congratulations Babylove!

Greyson telling Clayton congratulations.
